Scope of work: To remove redundant UPS from site safely and replace with new, then take away the redundant UPS & batteries from the customer site and dispose of in compliance with the current environmental legislation.

Sequence of Operations: New UPS/Batteries delivered to customer site. Store until required. Liaise with customer re Emergency and First Aid provisions at site. Obtain permit to Work if appropriate. Assess whether existing UPS/ batteries are leaking or in dangerous state. Agree with customer on disconnection and power-down sequence etc.(full RAMS statement available on request to new/existing customers).

Method of Work: explained fully in RAMS for your site.

Proper Site induction: Inclusive of comprehensive safety risk assessment compliant with prevailing Health & Safety legislation.

Disconnect old UPS & battery packs: For safe removal from site & disposed of according to current WEEE legislation(included at NO CHARGE in all of our quotes). Our engineers will ensure that power is off to old UPS and that electrical connections are dead & isolated. Ensure that the isolator is locked off to prevent unauthorised use.

Inspect all delivered components: Report on any damages particularly to battery casings & terminals.
Clean installation area thoroughly: Prior to positioning & leveling of the new UPS system.

Install new UPS to existing bypass: If possible, we reuse existing AC tails to minimise the time that the site is on raw mains power, until the new UPS comes on stream. We will only reuse the tails if in good, working condition. Any doubts and we replace.

Connection of new battery packs, UPS and initial switch on: UPS will be energised & in accordance with UPS/bypass user manuals, the system will be activated.

UPS configuration: Configured item by item for battery capacity, time, date, operational parameters & method of operation.

Battery/load testing: Check & record rectifier output voltage is in accordance with both the UPS & bypass manufacturers specifications- observing the ambient temperature. Check & record overall float voltage & current using calibrated equipment. Check & record any abnormalities.
UPS Control equipment: Check UPS component assemblies ie rectifier, inverter, static switch, internal or external bypass switch. Check & record UPS load & make sure that it does not exceed rating- A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH DATED POWER INFRASTRUCTURE.

UPS, bypass and auxillary device operational testing

Install SNMP card to site IP address: Client needs to provide static IP address for our installation engineer.

Onsite handover: All relevant installation documentation completed & signed off by engineer/customer
